Biography

Chris served for seven years with 2 PARA, completing operational tours in Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Macedonia and Afghanistan.

After leaving the military, he worked for six years as a close protection operator in Iraq and spent a further three years conducting anti-piracy operations off the coast of Somalia.

He has since dedicated twelve years to serving his community as a firefighter.

Today, Chris hosts The Old Paratrooper Podcast, using the platform to raise awareness of mental health and encourage open, honest conversations within the veteran community.

I have personal experience with noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus including struggling to hear people’s conversations in pubs and ringing in my ears. Through my podcast, I’ve spoken to so many lads who struggle on, thinking it was part of the job. But you don’t have to just ‘put up with it’ and talking to someone who shares that unspoken military understanding makes all the difference.
