Biography

Anthony Wright is a former infantry soldier whose 40-year career with the New Zealand Army is marked by distinguished service and senior leadership. He held several of the most prestigious appointments available to a Non-Commissioned Officer, including Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment (1RNZIR); 5th Wellington, West Coast and Taranaki Regiment (5WWCT); the New Zealand Contingent, Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai (NZCON); The Army Depot; 3/6 RNZIR; and Reserve Force Sergeant Major (Army).

Anthony deployed on operations to Cambodia, Sinai, and East Timor, and represented New Zealand in international military activities across Australia, the UK, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, and Fiji.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Finance and Management from Massey University. Now based in Hamilton, he continues his service to the veteran community as a Royal NZ Returned and Services Association (RSA) volunteer Local Support Officer for veterans and their families in the Waikato region, and as a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society.

Driven by a lifelong commitment to service, Anthony joined Veterans for Veterans (VFV) to extend his support across the APAC, offering his experience and leadership to help fellow veterans navigate the challenges of the civil injury claims process.

After 40 years in uniform, I know the value of standing shoulder-to-shoulder. Through Veterans For Veterans, I’m proud to carry that spirit forward, helping veterans and families, wherever they may be, to find the recognition and support they deserve.
