Mandy Hickson
Combat Survival
& Rescue Officer

Biography
Mandy Hickson is one of the UK’s pioneering female fast‑jet pilots, becoming one of the first women to fly the Tornado GR4 on the frontline. Over her 25‑year RAF career, she completed 45 missions over Iraq, served as a Combat Survival & Rescue Officer, and helped pave the way for women in a high‑intensity, male‑dominated environment.
Since leaving the RAF, Mandy has become an Aviation Ambassador for the Department for Transport, a trustee for the RAF Charitable Trust, and an international keynote speaker. Her bestselling memoir, ‘An Officer, Not a Gentleman’, chronicles her extraordinary path from determination to operational excellence. Mandy now shares powerful lessons on leadership, high‑pressure decision‑making, communication, and resilience with audiences worldwide.
