Levison Wood
Former Parachute Regiment Officer & Explorer

Biography
Levison Wood began his military career as a British Army Officer, where he served on the front line. His career exposed him to complex environments and high‑pressure situations, which shaped the foundations of his approach to exploration and storytelling. The skills he gained in uniform – from strategic decision‑making to operating in demanding, unfamiliar terrain – became the backbone of his future expeditions.
After leaving the Army, Levison became a globally recognised explorer known for bold, ambitious, and daring journeys. He has walked the length of the River Nile, traversed the Himalayas and Central America, crossed the Caucasus on foot, and circumnavigated the Arabian Peninsula. His eight critically acclaimed TV series (on Channel 4, Discovery and Amazon) and twelve best‑selling books have captivated worldwide audiences with stories of culture, conflict, and human resilience. Today, he uses his platform to support conservation, humanitarian work, and veteran organisations, inspiring others to explore the world with curiosity and courage.
