Dave Coleman
Royal Marine
Commando

Biography
Dave Coleman is a former Royal Marine Commando, online coach, and motivational speaker whose life has been shaped by adaptability, outdoor adventure, and a relentless drive to push beyond perceived limits. From childhood, Dave was drawn to high‑intensity sport as an escape from his stammer, Rugby, mountain climbing, and the Marine Cadets – experiences that built the physical and mental foundations for his future military career.
He joined the Royal Marines at just 16 years old, passing the gruelling Commando Training Course on his first attempt. Serving nearly eight years with 45 Commando, Dave deployed across the world, including a six‑month tour of Afghanistan at age 18, where he survived a grenade blast that left him with multiple physical injuries requiring 28 stitches, as well as the mental injury of a PTSD, depression and anxiety diagnosis.
After leaving the Marines, Dave founded Civvy 2 Commando, a programme designed to prepare aspiring Royal Marine recruits both mentally and physically for selection, as well as inspiring them through motivational speaking that they can achieve anything as long as they don’t give up and show a little cheerfulness in the face of adversity.
