Biography

Colin is a former Non-Commissioned Officer with the Irish Guards, bringing with him 15 years of distinguished service in the British Army. His military career, from 1993 to 2008, was defined by operational versatility and leadership across a broad spectrum of specialist roles.

Throughout his service, Colin held several key appointments including leading security details at Royal Palaces in London, supporting police anti-terrorism operations during active duty in Northern Ireland, and commanding a dismounted anti-tank team during the Kosovo conflict. He also served as an instructor at a military training depot in Northern Ireland, imparting vital infantry skills to the next generation of soldiers.

After transitioning from the Armed Forces, Colin applied his operational and strategic expertise in the fields of security, risk, and emergency management. His post-service work has taken him to high-threat environments including Malaysia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, where he led specialist close protection teams and provided advisory services to both government and private sector clients.

Today, Colin channels his experience into supporting fellow veterans through his work with Veterans for Veterans, where he helps guide former service personnel through the complex landscape of compensation claims and welfare support. His operational background and leadership in high-pressure environments make him a trusted advocate for those navigating life after service.

“I joined Veterans for Veterans because I’ve seen firsthand how easily those who served can fall through the cracks once the uniform comes off. VFV stands for the kind of loyalty and accountability we had in the military, looking out for one another, no matter the rank or regiment. It’s about stepping up when others step back.”
