East Durham Veterans Trust, based in Seaham, England, is a charity dedicated to supporting veterans and their families across the North East. The organisation focuses on three core areas of support:
- Practical Case Management: Helping veterans and family members navigate challenges such as finance, housing, benefits, and other essential needs through one‑to‑one, tailored support.
- Social Inclusion: Reducing isolation by creating opportunities for veterans to connect, build friendships, and take part in community activities.
- Mental Health & Wellbeing: Providing coaching, wellbeing support, and mental health guidance to help veterans and their families build resilience and improve their quality of life.

““I’ve dealt with noise‑related hearing loss and that constant ringing that makes it hard to follow conversations in busy places. I’ve met so many lads who just carry on, assuming it’s simply part of the job. But you don’t have to suffer in silence — speaking to someone who truly understands that unspoken military experience can make all the difference.””

Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims

Those serving in the British armed forces often experience noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) during their service, particularly from exposure to loud noises in training exercises and operations, including duties such as operating heavy machinery, participating in live fire exercises, or working near aircraft.
NIHL typically affects the inner ear, leading to symptoms that may include:
- Ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus)
- Difficulty understanding speech
- Muffled hearing
If you think you have suffered noise-induced hearing loss, you may be entitled to compensation.

“Veterans for Veterans isn’t just focused on hearing loss — it’s a broader commitment to supporting veteran‑led projects like East Durham Veterans Trust. Their backing helps us change the conversation around hearing claims. This isn’t about being anti‑military; it’s about standing up for fairness and recognising the real impact that service can have.”
