Proud Sponsors of True Heroes Racing

At Veterans For Veterans, our mission is simple: to support ex-military personnel and veterans across the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, empowering them to take back control and live their best lives after service. It’s at the heart of everything we do.

This is why we’re proud to announce our latest step in that mission; we’re now official sponsors of True Heroes Racing.

True Heroes Racing is the UK’s first and only motorcycle race team created specifically to support wounded, injured, and sick UK armed forces personnel and veterans, whether they’re still serving or retired. When we learned more about their work, the connection was instant. It just made perfect sense! Our values align, our goals align, and together, we’re stronger.

We were honoured to be invited to the first round of the British Superbike Championship on the Saturday of the early May Bank Holiday. The energy, the passion, and the camaraderie made it a privilege to stand trackside and cheer on a team built by and for veterans.

This is just the beginning. We’ll be supporting True Heroes Racing at more events throughout the season, and we’re excited to grow this partnership as we continue championing those who’ve served.

So, let’s dive in. We’ll tell you a bit more about our proud new sponsorship and give you the full lowdown on the incredible team at True Heroes Racing.

Who Are True Heroes Racing?

As mentioned, True Heroes Racing is the UK’s first and only not-for-profit motorcycle racing team dedicated to supporting Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) UK Armed Forces personnel and veterans. Established in 2012 by serving Royal Navy Warrant Officer Phil Spencer, the team began with just a single bike, a double amputee rider, and a small support crew of injured service members competing at club level.

In 2013, they made history by fielding the first disabled rider at a National Level: a truly inspiring and remarkable moment.

Today, the team races in the British Superbike Championship and has become a powerful platform for recovery and rehabilitation. Veterans and service leavers are given hands-on roles as riders, mechanics, and crew members,  developing technical skills, regaining confidence, and experiencing a sense of purpose and camaraderie similar to that of military life. 2025 also marks quite a pivotal year as the team transitions to Honda motorcycles after a decade with Ducati.

True Heroes Racing operates entirely through sponsorship and volunteer support, with a focus not on podium finishes but on participation, progress, and personal achievement.

Why True Heroes Racing Is Important To Us

True Heroes Racing holds a special place in our hearts because, at our core, we share the same mission: supporting and empowering veterans. Regardless of a veteran’s abilities or whether they are currently serving or have completed their service, we are both committed to being there with unwavering support.

While True Heroes Racing empowers ex-military personnel by enabling them to race at high-octane speeds, we focus on giving veterans autonomy in how they claim their compensation. Though our approaches differ, our core mission is the same: to empower and support those who have served. It’s a partnership that truly feels like a perfect fit.

How do They Help Make A Change?

True Heroes Racing helps in a multitude of ways. However, their main principles can be broken down into three main categories:

Engage

The True Heroes Racing team seeks to engage individuals from all kinds of military backgrounds. Their team consists of those who have lost limbs in service, those suffering from PTSD, and more. No matter their story, if someone is associated with the armed forces, they seek to reach and engage.

Empower

Once engaged, True Heroes Racing seeks to empower. They want ex-military personnel to feel like they not only have control over their lives, but feel even more empowered than they were before or during their service. What better way to do this than by forming a team that performs high-adrenaline, high-speed racing?

Inspire

True Heroes Racing also wants to inspire. They want other wounded, sick, or disabled veterans to see what they can accomplish and either join in or use their empowerment to take control of their own lives.

Where Can You See Them?

If you want to go watch this fantastic team of veterans in the flesh, then you can do so at pretty much any British Superbike Championship (BSB) event. There are events at circuits such as Silverstone in Northamptonshire, Donington Park in Leicestershire, and Oulton Park in Cheshire. So if you can attend one of these events, we are positive you’ll have a great time.

In addition, for the 2025 season, True Heroes Racing is competing in the Pirelli National Superstock Championship, a support class within the BSB series.

How To Get Involved?

If you think you want to help support True Heroes Racing’s mission or look for other ways to get involved, there are a variety of options available. They operate entirely through sponsorships and voluntary support, so if you can offer help of any kind, they would no doubt be grateful.

If you want to volunteer, they are always looking for help with logistics, event support, and technical assistance. If you are a part of the armed forces and want to join their crew, all support is welcome. Additionally, if you are a business or individual who wants to sponsor the team, you can do so via their website, and if you want to keep up with all of the good work the team is doing, be sure to check out their Facebook and Instagram for exciting news and updates.

Veterans For Veterans are extremely proud of this new partnership, and we wish all involved with the team at True Heroes Racing the very best of luck.
